The VRD's Spring Short Track Bike Series gets riders ready for the upcoming bike series. No points or prizes... just a fun way to get in shape after a long winter. Races will take place on a short, dirt loop and racers have 20 minutes to ride as many laps as possible in that time. Kids races will be five and 10 minutes in length.

The Boneyard Boogie kicks off the 2025 Vail Trail Running Series with a 14K scamper through pinyon groves and juniper shrubs on some of Eagle's most scenic single track trails, with an elevation gain of 1,279 feet, reaching a maximum elevation of 7,718 feet. Both races will start and end at the Eagle Pool and Ice Rink, with the 14K starting at 9:00 a.m. and the 6K starting at 9:15 a.m.

The 31st annual Ride for the Pass start is at the Winter Closure Gate on Highway 82. 

The Ride has three options: The first ends at ghost town of Independence ten miles from the start (climbing approximately 2,300 feet, ending at an elevation of about 10,800 feet). The second option ends at Weller Lake, which is just over two miles from the starting line and climbs 500 verticle feet, making this option more family-friendly. There is also an e-bike (pedal assist only) option. Join this "car free" ride to support the Independence Pass Foundation and ride this iconic Colorado road before it opens to vehicle traffic for the season.

A barbecue + raffle will follow the ride at the winter gate (weather permitting).
