Vail Resorts Nordic School specializes in backcountry snowshoe and cross-country tours and lessons. In addition, we offer Backcountry ski and AT private tours, and family private tours. All of our tours and lessons incorporate winter travel skills, local history, and learning about the natural environment around us. Tours and lessons include equipment, (with the exception of Telemark). If you are looking for a fun adventure off the mountain and away from the set track come and join us.

Trails Open for Season

Lessons

This season, our group tours will operate on a walk-up basis, accommodating a maximum of 6 guests per tour. We also offer both full- and half-day private tours for groups of up to 6 individuals. For private tours, we strongly advise pre-booking by calling 970-754-4390.

Private Cross-Country Lessons & Tours

Half Day: $370 for 1 guest // $540 for 2 guests // $85 for additional guests
Full Day: $550 for 1 guest // $670 for 2 guests // $100 for additional guests

Our tours for the beginner on up utilize the spectacular wilderness areas that surround Vail. Cross-Country skiing is where it all started. We meet at the Golden Peak Nordic Desk 25 minutes prior to your tour time. All guests are provided equipment & water. NOTE: at 7 guests an additional tour must be booked.

Half day times: 9:00 AM - 12:15 PM or 1:00 PM - 4:15 PM
Full day time:  9:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Group Cross-Country Lessons & Tours

$160/person

Our tours for the beginner on up utilize the spectacular wilderness areas that surround Vail. Cross-Country skiing is where it all started. We meet at the Golden Peak Nordic Desk 25 minutes prior to your tour time. All guests are provided equipment & water. NOTE: at 7 guests an additional tour must be booked.

Introductory lesson and tour: 9:30 AM - 1:15 PM Mon., Wed., Fri., & Sun.
Experienced lesson and tour: 9:30 AM - 1:15 PM Tue., Thur., & Sat.

No reservations. Walk-up only.

Private Snowshoe Wilderness Tours

Half Day: $370 for 1 guest // $540 for 2 guests // $85 for additional guests
Full Day: $550 for 1 guest // $670 for 2 guests // $100 for additional guests
