The Colorado Cross Country Ski Association

Arguably our most popular race, this night time two-person skate sprint relay takes place under the glow from the X-Games lights at Buttermilk. Race number four in the seven race  Ute Nordic Series, sponsored by The Ute Mountaineer.

The Kids Nordic Ski Program offers ski instruction for beginners and more accomplished skiers ages 5-10, skiing games, winter nature activities, and ends with a Nordic Ski Festival and prizes for all.

The program will be offered starting January 9 ending February 27, 2026. Please arrive 30-45 minutes prior to lessons to get equipment and trail pass which are provided by Snow Mtn Ranch for the duration of the lesson. Some Covid precautions are still observed, wait times may be longer than normal and social distancing is still requested. Classic, skate and never-ever lessons are available.
Hot chocolate and bites of energy are available at the end of the lesson.

Devil’s Thumb Ranch and the Winter Park/Fraser Chamber are happy to present the 11th annual 30km, 15km, and 3k kids classic-only cross country ski race and tour! The event will start and finish at Devil’s Thumb Ranch Resort & Spa. An end of race celebration will be located at Broad Axe Barn with food and beer.

Free intro classic ski and skate ski lessons for adults and kids

We traversed across Beaver Creek and into Arrowhead for the second installment of the VRD Winter Races! Participants can choose between *skimo/boardmo and uphill with approximately 1,700 feet of vertical gain from the base of the Arrow Bahn Lift to the top. The event will conclude with breakfast and awards at Broken Arrow Restaurant at the base of Arrowhead. 

Race will consist of skimo, boardmo, and uphill. Uphill can be done on skis, splitboard, snowshoes, spikes, or shoes with tred.
